Skull of the Bat

The Skeletal Spotlight shines this time on:

Went to see "The Dark Knight" this past weekend and was blown away by it. With the web as busy as it is this weekend with all the buzz about it, no need for me to go much further into the awesomely awesome awesomeness of it. Also, this blog is about skulls. So, here are a couple of skull-centric Batman images I scared up, cause I didn't want to be left out of the Bat-blogging fun!

I actually remember the skull in cowl cover from my youth that kicks off the entry. The story inside had Batman and Robin (version 3.0) going up against a voodoo cult that had captured Robin's parents.; July 23, 2008 at 6:16 AM

Well, I had to get something Bat-oriented on in honor of "The Dark Knight." And ol' Hot-Head will have his day, but I didn't want to post the too-obvious ones early on.

I have a few other posts in reserve until I get past the indefinable point where the too-obvious entries would no longer be too obvious. Make any sense? If so, I'm surprised.; July 23, 2008 at 6:36 AM

Welcome, foolish mortals... to Sweet Skulls! The Site For Those With A Taste For Terror...

If you like skulls, (and by extension, skeletons) then you'll enjoy this site. I mean, let's face it, everybody has at least one; just under the visage in the mirror. Maybe you have more than one... hidden in a closet somewhere. You might be like me, and have several buried back behind the storage shed... uh, on second thought, scratch that, forget I said it.

This blog is devoted to the image of the skull as seen in past years in horror movie posters, Halloween decorations, spooky sound effects records, books, comics, monster magazines, etc. The stark, grimly-grinning skull has endured over the years as the single most scary, yet familiar symbol of the sweet terror that we love to shiver from.
